Payment Details
The National Standards process launched in 2000 with the support of several national funders, including the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, The Ford Foundation, The W.K. Kellogg Foundation, and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, covering the costs of the confirmation process. This funding is no longer available. Consequently, community foundations applying for confirmation or re-confirmation will be required to assume the full financial costs.
To ensure that everyone receives a fair and consistent review for compliance, the review process is rigorous and reviewers are well trained. The fees paid by a community foundation help defray costs incurred during this process. The cost of confirmation is $2,000 and the cost of reconfirmation is $1,800. Each fee covers the foundation for a five-year period.
We have developed two payment options to provide flexibility. Community foundations can choose the most convenient payment option from the list below and send a check payable to Community Foundations National Standards Board to:

Confirmation payment options
Plan 1:
Make a deposit of $300 when you declare your intent to comply
Pay the balance of $1,700 when you ship your completed record binder
Total = $2,000
Plan 2:
Make a deposit of $300 when you declare your intent to comply
Pay an intermediate sum of $900 when you ship your completed record binder
Pay the balance of $900 when your confirmation is confirmed (six to 12 months later)
Total = $2,100
Reconfirmation payment options
Plan 1:
Make a deposit of $300 when you declare your intent to comply
Pay the balance of $1,500 when you ship your completed record binder
Total = $1,800
Plan 2:
Make a deposit of $300 when you declare your intent to comply
Pay an intermediate sum of $800 when you ship your completed record binder
Pay the balance of $800 when your confirmation is confirmed (six to 12 months later)
Total = $1,900
